The arcane art has always been a discerning factor for political affairs and the ever present war. A group of individuals who have spent their lives living by these mysterious arts have vowed to further understand and teach what they have known to the willing.
And thus the College was born...
Guild Name: The College (Or as the simplefolk refer to it as: The Mages Guild)
What Do They Do: Set on the task of uncovering hidden knowledge and records of ancient times. Praying to find some magic which can be used to combat the engrossing darkness which creeps into Skyrim.
The College works as a training palace and living area for developing or mastered magic users who hope to hone or teach their skills.
Finally the College acts as advisers to other factions or cities hoping to survive the harsh landscape which is Skyrim.
Expected Profit: To be able to provide a balanced and non-bias faction which magic is used (We all know magic is deadly in the wrong hands), lore is to be stored in the libraries here, server events will lead to the College for answers among it's books of old.
Ranks
1. Novice
A fresh individual which hopes to learn the magical art.
2. Apprentice
The Associates who pass the "test" gain access to the College and can begin learning as an Apprentice.
3. Journeyman
When the teacher think the individuals power is ready, to be put to better us,e they graduate from classes and begin serving the College.
4. Evoker
The public generally views this rank as a full member d the College. From completing tasks and lessons one may hope to acquire this rank.
5. Conjurer
The true power of magic is shown to this rank, and it's taught as well. A conjured will be asked to attend selected lessons to further their power.
6. Magician
Magicians are still learning the power of magic but still have a capable grasp of the knowledge. The magician rank is one which is generally sent to collect and preform public deeds for the College.
7. Warlock
The Warlock is the supervisor for teaching the lower ranks, is at this rank where they can ask about using the guilds wealth (both magical and material) for tasks.
8. Wizard
Generally found in the libraries of the College, the Wizards are powerful in the magical art and seek to further that power.
9. Grand Wizard
Advisers to the Archmage and mentors to the lower ranks. The Grand Wizards oversee that all matters both internal and external involving the College run smoothly.
10. Archmage
The leader of the College, there can only be a single Archmage at any one time. The Archmage has devoted his life to teaching as well as learning.
Magic
The magic used within the Skyrim server is a plug-in which works from commands and items.
A player can learn spells from visiting the College and attending it's "Open classes" where groups of players come together to learn spells. At the end of the class each player who attended will get access to cast that spell that was learnt.
Players who call the College there home/faction will be allowed to attend closed classes which are only available to College students to learn more powerful and complex spells.
Each spell costs resources to use, these resources change depending on the spell. To cast a spell simply type /cast *Spell name* whilst facing the target or, you can wield a stick and right click which will cycle through the spells your character knows. Then you may right click to cast it.
Magic can also be embedded within books. We can trap powerful spells in books which if right clicked can cast the spell. This process allows non-College students access to powerful spells, however they have a usage of 5 times before they crumble.
Ask in-game for what classes are being run today. Or stop by the College for a quick RP. Below is a brief taste of several of the spells.
Blink: Warp to the location you face, leaving behind a black cloud at your path.
Disarm: Force the opponent you face to drop their weapon to the floor.
Fireball: Launches a fireball at target area
Firenova: Sends out waves of fire from your location hitting anything nearby.
Heal: Heals selected target.
Minion: Summons an undead minion to fight for you.
Prayer: Heals yourself of any negative effects and restores your own health.
Zap: Call down a bolt of lightning to a target.
